Silver Lake was a station along the Tonopah and Tidewater Railroad.
The ruins are located about 8 miles north of Baker on highway 127.
The post office was opened on March 27, 1907.
The first postmaster was George A. Hearth. Followed by Gustave Brauer on Jun.
8,1911. Then on Dec. 10, 1917 Ivan L. Miller became the 3rd postmaster of Silver Lake.
Grover W. Starkey became the 4th on Feb. 5, 1919.
Ernest V. Starkey became the 5th on Jan. 17, 1920.
Duncan A. Gary became the 6th on May 18, 1923
Raphael M. Lowe became the 7th on Mar. 4, 1924
William H. Brown became the 8th on May 11, 1927
Louis J. Landry became the 9th on May 29, 1929
Ralph J. Fairbanks became the last postmaster of Silver Lake on Jan. 21, 1933
At this time the post office was closed and moved to Baker.
